Protesters in cities including Paris, Madrid, Berlin, and Rome carried banners demanding stricter laws, better support services for survivors, and greater societal accountability. Chants and speeches highlighted the urgent need to address domestic violence, sexual assault, and femicide, issues that continue to plague societies worldwide.
Activists emphasized the importance of preventive measures, such as education programs, awareness campaigns, and stronger enforcement of existing legislation. Many also called on governments to allocate more resources to shelters and hotlines, which provide critical lifelines to victims of abuse.
The demonstrations served as a stark reminder of the work that remains in the fight to end violence against women. Organizers hope the collective outcry will lead to tangible policy changes and a cultural shift toward zero tolerance for gender-based violence.
