Air France Resumes Flights

Air France has officially reintroduced direct flights between Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (MNL), starting December 7, 2024. This marks the first direct air link between the two cities in two decades, a move expected to bolster tourism and business ties between France and the Philippines.

The route will operate three times weekly—on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays—utilizing the advanced Airbus A350-900. This aircraft features a three-class configuration, offering 34 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 266 Economy seats, catering to both luxury and economy travelers. Flight AF208 departs Paris at 11:20 PM, arriving in Manila at 7:30 PM the following day. The return flight, AF209, leaves Manila at 9:50 PM and lands in Paris at 5:50 AM the next morning.

This new service is part of Air France’s broader strategy to expand its Asian network. It complements KLM’s four weekly flights between Amsterdam and Manila, providing a seamless daily connection to the Philippines for European travelers through the Air France-KLM alliance.

The resumption of direct flights to Manila addresses long-standing demand from both Filipino and European travelers, who previously had to endure multiple layovers. It also reflects the airline's confidence in the growing travel market in Southeast Asia, with other new routes including destinations like Malé in the Maldives and Salvador de Bahia in Brazil as part of Air France’s winter 2024-2025 expansion.

This development is expected to significantly enhance travel convenience and contribute to economic growth through increased business and tourism exchanges between Europe and the Philippines.
