The security guard involved in the viral "Sampaguita Girl" incident met with the Philippine National Police's Civil Security Group (PNP-CSG) on January 20, 2025, to address the issues arising from the event.
During the meeting, the investigator informed all parties of the preliminary investigation's purpose and the requirements for the submission of pertinent documents and affidavits. The security guard was ordered to submit his affidavit to the Supervisory Office on Security and Investigation Agency (SOSIA) on or before January 23, 2025.
The security agency, Redeye Management, has apologized for the actions displayed in the video and assured that due process is being conducted with the guard involved. They emphasized the importance of de-escalation and prioritizing professionalism in performing duties.
The PNP-CSG has reminded all private security professionals to uphold the Private Security Professionals Creed and adhere to the Code of Ethical Standards of their profession.
