MANILA – California-based technology giant Salesforce, Inc. is set to expand its global footprint by launching operations in the Philippines this year, according to the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

In a recent statement, the DTI revealed that Secretary Cristina Roque engaged with Salesforce executives, including Executive Vice President and General Manager Adam Evans and Executive Vice President for Global Government Affairs Eric Loeb, during the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos, Switzerland. During these discussions, Salesforce outlined its commitment to investing in the Philippines, citing the country's robust business environment and ongoing digital transformation initiatives as key motivators.

Salesforce, renowned for its innovative cloud-based software solutions, specializes in sales, customer service, marketing automation, e-commerce, analytics, artificial intelligence (AI), and application development. The company’s entry into the Philippines is expected to significantly contribute to the nation’s technological and economic growth.

“The presence of Salesforce in the Philippines will create numerous job opportunities, accelerate the country’s digital transformation, and reinforce its position as a vital player in the Asia Pacific region,” the DTI highlighted.

The company’s strategic plans include collaborating with leading universities and organizations to upskill Filipino talent, empowering micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), and exploring the establishment of a shared service facility to drive AI innovation and collaboration among stakeholders.

This initiative aligns with the Philippine government’s ongoing efforts to promote digital transformation and attract global investments in technology. Secretary Roque expressed her optimism about Salesforce’s potential to enhance the country’s digital ecosystem and further its commitment to fostering innovation.

While specific details regarding investment value and job creation are yet to be disclosed, the announcement signals a bright future for the Philippine tech sector. Salesforce’s entry is expected to drive innovation, create high-value jobs, and provide a platform for Filipino businesses to thrive in the global digital economy.

The DTI delegation, led by Secretary Roque, continues to champion Philippine investment opportunities on the world stage, with high-level discussions at the WEF alongside House Speaker Martin Romualdez and Finance Secretary Ralph Recto.

With Salesforce’s upcoming operations, the Philippines stands poised to embrace new technological advancements and solidify its reputation as a hub for innovation and digital transformation in the region.
